ABOUT ME
On this page, I have outlined some of my past clinical experience, and work as a psychological practitioner, and given you a brief outline of my qualifications and training so you can understand the depth of knowledge that I will bring to the work we do together.
There is also some information about the steps I take to offer a safe, regulated, friendly, fully insured, and most of all effective service to you. If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch.
Past experience
I have over 15 years of professional therapeutic experience spanning a variety of settings, including the National Health Service (NHS), the Public Prison Service, and private charitable organisations. I have worked in forensic settings as well as in both physical and mental healthcare services.
My work has involved supporting children, adults, older adults, and individuals with learning disabilities. Previously, I served as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist within the NHS, focusing on adult mental health in the community, and the emotion regulation pathway for individuals with personality disorders. I have also volunteered in a range of settings such as in bereavement, palliative care, and substance abuse services.
I started to offer therapy privately in 2014, but I set up Rainbow Psychological Services Ltd in early 2022 when I made the decision to work solely in private practice. Since then my practice has gone from strength to strength as I am now able to offer a wider range of services to both individuals and corporations, and I am excited to be further expanding with new associates offering a range of skills and experience, but also offering a range of funding options and prices, for you to choose to work with.

Qualifications and Professional Affiliations
My qualifications include two higher level diplomas, two undergraduate level degrees (first class) in therapeutic and psychological areas, a postgraduate diploma in dialectical behaviour therapy, a master's degree (distinction) in psychology, and a Doctorate in clinical psychology. You can find further information about my qualifications on the choosing a therapist page.
I am a registered member of the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) entitled to hold the protected titles of both Practitioner and Clinical psychologist. I am a Chartered member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a certified member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) on their accredited register, and a registered member of the Society for Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) as I am a fully trained DBT therapist. I am also a fully trained EMDR therapist and I am registered as a EuroPsy, meaning my qualifications are recognised across Europe. In addition, I am on the BPS register for approved supervisors (RAPPS) having trained specifically to offer clinical and management supervision. Additionally, I have completed specialised training to assess, diagnose, and work therapeutically with people with neurodevelopmental conditions.

This all means that I am qualified to the very highest standard and these affiliations ensure I adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards, providing you with quality assurance and care you can trust.
Commitment to Excellence
I am committed to your well-being and providing a respectful, compassionate, and confidential service. My practice is fully insured, and I undertake a full programme of professional development and training each year to ensure my approach remains up to date, evidence-based and effective.

Therapeutic Approaches
Life isn’t always smooth sailing — it can sometimes feel like navigating stormy seas. Therapy offers a safe space to make sense of the past, ease worries about the future, and focus on living fully in the present.

Some people seek therapy during challenging times, while others use it as a space for reflection, personal growth, and resilience-building through therapy or coaching. Whether you wish to explore your thoughts, clarify your values, or develop strategies to navigate life’s challenges, my tailored therapeutic approaches can support you in achieving your goals and to ensure this I am trained to deliver and integrate a wide range of different therapies.

For fellow professionals, I also offer supervision using a variety of models and I always welcome supervisees with new research projects as I am a RAPPS-registered supervisor.

In-Person and Online Services
I offer limited in-person services at private health clinics in the Mansfield and Nottinghamshire areas so you might find me if searching for a clinical psychologist near me. However, I specialise in providing video consultations and online therapeutic services, making support accessible wherever you are as an online psychologist.

Research shows that online therapy and assessments are as effective as, and sometimes more effective than, in-person sessions. For trauma-informed therapies like Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), online therapy can be particularly beneficial. More details about the online therapy experience are available on my Working Online page.

To minimise waiting times, I maintain a short waiting list and only add individuals who are specifically interested in working with me. I always provide a clear estimate of how long you might need to wait, and I regularly update my availability to keep you informed.

International Practice
With clients across the globe, including many in Europe, my EuroPsy accreditation ensures my qualifications are recognised internationally. I am fully insured to practice globally (apart from sanctioned nations) and I accept payment in euros for European clients, with a tailored rate schedule available upon request. I find many ex-pats are looking for a good quality English psychologist online, and I would love to talk to you about this.

Getting Started
You don’t need a medical referral to access my services. I welcome direct applications and self-referrals from privately and corporately funded clients. I am registered with major insurance providers, including Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Vitality, and WPA for insurance funded sessions.
